In May 2006 Shantex Pty Ltd was appointed by Anhui Heli Co Ltd to be the Australian distributor of its comprehensive range of forklift trucks, to be marketed under the brand name of Pacific Heli.

Shantex Pty Ltd is part of the John O’Brien Group of companies in Australia which includes Barrier Reef Motors trading as Pacific Toyota, Pacific Hino and Lexus of Cairns and ARAG (Australian Regional Automotive Group) a collection of motor vehicle franchises in Western Queensland and Southern New South Wales. Shantex Pty Ltd was created in July 2002 primarily to purchase the Lunds 4WD business in Cairns, North Queensland which has a 25 year background in import and distribution of automotive parts throughout Australia, Papua New Guinea, the Pacific Islands, Indonesia and South Africa.

In February 2007 a major change for Shantex was taken, to aggressively expand the warehousing and distribution network for the auto parts business and resulted in acquiring several related business’s which has positioned Shantex as a prime supplier to the Automotive parts market with warehouse’s in Cairns, Melbourne, Sydney, with Head Office in Brisbane and a staff in excess 100 people.

Heli is China’s largest manufacturer of forklift trucks producing over 50,000 units per year within one of the largest and most technologically advanced facilities in China. The Anhui Heli group has been operating since 1958, producing forklifts from 1 to 32 ton over 80 models and 400 types, for their strong home client base and export markets in Europe, North America and Asia/Pacific.

Shantex is establishing an Australia-wide Dealer network with Principal Dealers in State Capital Cities and are seeking to enlarge the network by appointing resellers throughout Australia. To support the Dealer network Shantex Pty Ltd has invested in a comprehensive range of parts.
